Conversation Rooted in Community Rising to the Global Stage

Women-Led Recovery, Resilience & Partnerships

 Why This Conversation Matters

While global conversations on gender equality are essential, the lived experiences of women in Small Island and Caribbean communities are often underrepresented.

Voices After the Storm centers women’s voices, community leadership, and partnership-driven recovery efforts emerging from Jamaica — connecting local realities to global dialogue at the Commission on the Status of Women.

United Nations NGO CSW70 Global Session

Community-Led Disaster Response for Women and Girls

A powerful dialogue examining how women-led, partnership-driven approaches strengthen resilience, dignity, and long-term recovery in crisis-affected communities like Jamaica and Small Developing Island States.

Women are not just responders in times of crisis—they are the architects of resilient, thriving communities.

The Women-led Recovery Toolkit

As we say, Preparation is Better than Cure

The Women-Led Recovery Toolkit is a practical, field-informed resource designed to guide organizations, leaders, and partners in building community-centered, sustainable recovery efforts. Grounded in real-world experience, it equips users with strategies to center women as leaders, strengthen partnerships, and drive lasting impact in crisis-affected communities.

Dive in and you will see how the Toolkit translates lived experience into action—providing a structured approach for designing inclusive, community-led recovery efforts that elevate women as leaders and strengthen long-term resilience.

Developed by Inspire and Serve CEO Jewel Daniels Radford, she says the toolkit is a call to move beyond helping communities recover—to empowering them to lead their own resilience.

the power of CSW!

Why CSW Matters to Inspire and Serve

Who We Are

Inspire and Serve is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization (NGO) and Jamaica charity committed to empowering women, girls, and communities through purpose-driven service, ethical voluntourism, and partnership-based development initiatives. Our work is rooted in Jamaica and informed by the lived experiences of those most impacted by crisis.

Why Inspire and Serve Attends CSW

The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the world’s largest global forum dedicated to advancing gender equality and women’s rights.

Inspire and Serve participates in CSW to:

  • Elevate community-informed perspectives into global dialogue

  • Learn from global best practices that strengthen local impact

  • Build partnerships that advance women-led recovery and resilience

  • Ensure policy conversations reflect lived realities, not assumptions

Our participation is grounded in the belief that global advocacy must be connected to community voice.

How CSW Benefits Women & Communities in Jamaica

Through CSW engagement, Inspire and Serve:

  • Brings insights back to programs serving women and girls in Jamaica

  • Strengthens partnerships with organizations addressing justice, protection, and recovery

  • Aligns local initiatives with global frameworks supporting gender equality

  • Amplifies Caribbean and Small Island perspectives often underrepresented in global spaces

This ensures our programs — including Voices After the Storm — remain informed, responsive, and globally connected.
