When disaster fades from the headlines, families are still rebuilding their lives. Your donation to Voices After the Storm ensures they are not forgotten—and that recovery continues with dignity, care, and lasting impact.

Named for Jamaica’s Blue Mahoe—strong, unshaken, and built to serve—the Blue Mahoe Scholarship is not about giving students a way out. It is about raising up young leaders who understand that what they receive must be returned in impact.
Each year, we invest in two scholars—a young woman and a young man—who are not only academically driven, but already show the instinct to serve. We remove the financial barriers that stand between them and their degree—but in return, we ask something greater:
Show up. Give back. Build where you stand.
Every Blue Mahoe Scholar is required to serve while they rise—mentoring, supporting, and actively contributing to communities across Jamaica. Some step into existing Inspire and Serve initiatives. Others design their own projects. But all of them learn the same truth:
Education is not the finish line. It is the tool.
This is not charity.
This is accountability, access, and action—working together.
When you support the Blue Mahoe Scholarship, you are not just funding tuition. You are helping shape individuals who will graduate with more than a degree—they will leave with a track record of service, a mindset of responsibility, and a commitment to build stronger communities wherever they go.
Fund a Scholar. Activate a Leader. Strengthen a Nation.

On the grounds of the youth home sits a tree that is a center of refuge —a place where children often come to share their stories, vent their frustrations, or simply sit in the silence of their own emotions. The Safe Haven Mental Health and Wellness Initiative provides a beacon of healing where boys and girls learn to process grief, anxiety, and trauma—finding strength despite the weight they carry. Your support means that every child who sits beneath this tree can receive the care they desperately need, turning a place of pain into a pathway toward healing and hope.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, the emotional weight carried by many young people has only deepened—layered onto already complex life circumstances. Through our Safe Haven Mental Health and Wellness Initiative, Inspire and Serve provides consistent, trauma-informed support through both in-person and telehealth counseling services, ensuring that vulnerable youth are not left to navigate their pain alone, but are met with the care, stability, and compassion needed to begin healing and move forward.
Behind every session is a child carrying more than they should—grief, fear, uncertainty, and the quiet weight of trying to be strong. Without consistent care, these struggles do not fade; they deepen. Your support helps us reach our goal of $10,000 USD to provide critical counseling services, offering not just intervention, but a pathway to healing, stability, and hope for children who deserve the chance to feel safe, supported, and seen.
Healing cannot wait—join us in providing life-changing support and help ensure no child has to face recovery alone.
