Women-Led Recovery Toolkit
A practical guide for organizations and leaders implementing women-led, partnership-driven recovery strategies in crisis-affected communities.
Built From the Ground Up
The Women-Led Recovery Toolkit was developed by Inspire and Serve out of lived experience — years of working alongside women in Western Jamaica as they led their families, neighborhoods, and communities through the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa and other crises.
This toolkit is not theoretical. It is grounded in the real strategies, partnerships, and lessons that have helped communities rebuild with dignity, equity, and lasting resilience. We offer it freely to organizations, policymakers, and community leaders around the world who are committed to centering women in recovery.

Presented at the United Nations
Launched at CSW70
The Women-Led Recovery Toolkit was formally introduced at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) during the Inspire and Serve side event: Voices After the Storm — Community-Led Disaster Response for Women and Girls. It represents our commitment to translating community wisdom into globally accessible resources.
"When women lead recovery, communities heal faster, more equitably, and more durably. This toolkit is our way of sharing what we have learned so others can build on it."
